OUR SPECIALIZED PROCESS

NW Landworks leaves sites neat and tidy–by first mulching in-place, the volume of organic matter can be reduced up to 90% and then any remaining unwanted material is taken to a green recycling facility. Leaving mulch behind recycles the nutrients back into the soil, prevents erosion, and minimizes the costs related to debris removal. These services are also a great alternative to poisonous herbicides and expensive manual labor.

Modern, specialized equipment creates less soil compaction than even foot traffic does, with the capabilities such as powering attachments like the flail mower. The fast cycle time (how long it takes to go from scoop to dump) of these machines actually outperforms most other excavators. We use larger equipment when digging out building sites for large foundations or pulling out large tree stumps. Our machines are easy on the environment, use less fuel, are easier to mobilize and combined with our innovative techniques can clear land more efficiently than with traditional machines and methods.

ABOUT STEVE

Steve grew up in North Kitsap County in the woods, enjoying camping and observing nature. After earning an Associate’s degree of Applied Science in Environmental Horticulture, he worked for 10 years as the Head Horticulturalist for Bloedel Reserve & ran Killdeer Landscaping for another decade, providing commercial and public works landscaping for the North Olympic Peninsula.

His respect for nature that was instilled during childhood is combined with his profession, keeping a conservation-minded philosophy in his work now at NW Landworks.

“Before I started NW Landworks, I noticed the effect that heavy equipment had on the land, compacting soil, impacting drainage, and removing the soils that plants need to thrive – and it motivated me to use my machinery from landscaping to reduce the negative impact.”

-Steve Martin, Owner-Operator
